About
Born and raised in Carmel, California, my love and passion for the oceans, forests, and mountains began at a young age and has followed me throughout my career.

Following my undergraduate education at the University of California, Berkeley, I spent six years working as an Assistant Scientist for the Sea Education Association (SEA) and as a Wildlife Biologist for Yosemite National Park.

With SEA, I spent almost a thousand days at sea sailing, teaching undergraduates, and conducting oceanographic research in the North Atlantic, Caribbean, and South Pacific Oceans.

At Yosemite, I worked to restore aquatic habitat for endangered amphibian species and managed field crews spread out between five remote field sites in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range.

These two careers helped guide me to my most recent endeavor, pursuing a PhD in Ecology and Environmental Science at the University of Maine, Orono, studying environmental and sedimentary DNA.
